Create a Viber bot

  1. Go to the Viber Admin Panel at partners.viber.com and sign in with your Viber account
  2. Create a Public Account / Bot and fill in its details
  3. Copy the authentication token Viber gives you

Connect to Chatonio

  1. Go to Admin → Projects → [Your Project] → Channels
  2. Create a new Viber channel
  3. Paste your Viber auth token
  4. Click Connect — this registers the webhook with Viber

That’s it! Messages sent to your Viber bot will now appear in your Chatonio inbox, and the AI will respond automatically.

Good to know

  • Viber is a 1:1 messaging channel — like the Telegram bot, each customer chats with your bot privately. Available on the Advanced plan and above
  • Your bot can only message a customer after they start the conversation. This is a Viber rule, and it is exactly how support works — the customer messages first, then you and the AI reply
  • You can send and receive text and attachments (images, files, video)
  • Viber bots can’t edit or delete a message once it’s sent, and there is no “typing…” indicator — these are Viber platform limitations, not Chatonio ones
  • Your Viber auth token is stored encrypted
