Install the Chatonio App on Mobile (iOS & Android)

April 14, 2026 ViewsGetting Started

What is the Chatonio App?

Chatonio is delivered as a Progressive Web App (PWA). That means you install it straight from your browser — no App Store, no Play Store, no downloads. Once installed, it behaves exactly like a native app: its own icon on your home screen, a standalone window, and push notifications when new messages come in.

This article covers iPhone, iPad, and Android. For Mac and Windows, see the Install on Desktop article.

iPhone & iPad (iOS / iPadOS)

Installing on iOS requires Safari. Other browsers on iOS cannot install PWAs.

  1. Open chatonio.com in Safari and log in.

The first time you open the app, allow notifications so you get pinged about new conversations even when the app is closed.

Android

On Android, use Chrome (or any Chromium-based browser like Edge, Brave, or Samsung Internet).

  1. Open chatonio.com in Chrome and log in.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  4. Tap Install to confirm. Chatonio will be added to your app drawer and home screen.

When prompted, allow notifications so incoming messages reach you in real time.

After installing

  • Enable notifications the first time you open the app — this is what makes push alerts work when the app is closed.

  • Stay logged in: the PWA keeps your session just like a native app, so you only need to sign in once.

  • Uninstalling: long-press the icon and remove it just like any other app.
