What is the Chatonio App?
On iPhone and iPad, Chatonio is a native app you install from the App Store, with full push notifications. On Android, Chatonio installs as a Progressive Web App (PWA) straight from your browser — nothing to download from the Play Store. Either way you get an app icon on your home screen, a standalone window, and push notifications when new messages come in.

iPhone & iPad (iOS / iPadOS)
Chatonio is a native app on the App Store — free, and it needs iOS 15 or later. It runs on both iPhone and iPad.
The quickest way in is the direct link — Chatonio on the App Store — opened on the device you want the app on.
You can also reach it from inside Chatonio. On your iPhone or iPad:
Open chatonio.com and sign in.
Go to Settings → Apps and tap Download on the App Store.
Install it, then open Chatonio and sign in.
Tap Allow when iOS asks about notifications — this is what delivers push while the app is closed.
The first time you browse chatonio.com on an iPhone the site offers you the app by itself. That prompt is the same download, so it is safe to tap:
No App Store access? Safari’s Share → Add to Home Screen still puts a Chatonio icon on your home screen. Notifications there need iOS 16.4 or later and only arrive when you open Chatonio from that icon rather than in a Safari tab, so use the App Store app wherever you can.
Android
On Android, use Chrome (or any Chromium-based browser like Edge, Brave, or Samsung Internet).
Open chatonio.com in Chrome and log in.
Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
Select Install app (or Add to Home screen on older versions).
Tap Install to confirm. Chatonio will be added to your app drawer and home screen.
When prompted, allow notifications so incoming messages reach you in real time.
After installing
Enable notifications the first time you open the app — this is what makes push alerts work when the app is closed.
Stay logged in: the app keeps your session, so you only need to sign in once.
Uninstalling: long-press the icon and remove it just like any other app.
